Macro Photography of Leaves (Macro Photography Ideas with Raynox DCR 250)

Green is a colour that reminds us of nature, refreshes us, energises us, and let’s us take a deep breath. So let’s bring some of that energy into our photography. We are gonna do some macro photography today, only of leaves. For macro photography I am gonna attach my macro lens filter – Raynox DCR 250 in front of my 18-55mm and 70-300mm kit lenses. And also use an external flash with a trigger. Let’s get started.

1st I will take a shot of these beautiful green leaves with my Raynox attached.
These leaves have a unique shape.
When a flower comes with these leaves…
This leaf is huge so will be more steady.
I have sprayed some water over this leaf.
Now let me remove the Raynox and click with just my 70-300 lens.
If I were to photograph these leaves keeping the sky as my background I might get a beautiful shiny white background. Just remember to point my flash or else the image will come as a silhouette.
I can go super close to photograph the pattern of this leaf.
When you get some insects with your leaves.
And butterflies…
I will simply place a leaf on a wooden surface like my table and just click.

Wow. This is what I love about photography. If photography would not have been in my life, I would have been at my desk with my laptop. Photography gives me a reason to explore and observe nature. I am really liking it.

I love using my Raynox DCR-250. It is a poor girl’s macro lens, and you can do so much with it. And I hope I gave you guys some cool macro photography ideas. Please follow me on social media for regular photography tips and tricks. Links down below…
