What Inspires Me to Travel

Since my trip to Goa last year, I have been bitten by the travel bug. I love travelling to new places and following my wanderlust. Luckily for me, my family and friends are equally crazy about travel. So what inspires me to travel… Read ahead to find out!

1. New Places

I love the word “New”. And travel is all about the word “New”. Going to new places, meeting new people, tasting new types of food, is all a part of my bucket list.

2. Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone

Nothing forces me out of my comfort zone the way travelling does. Your mind can open up to new horizons only after you take the courage to step out of your comfort zone. Waking up at 4 a.m. in the morning for a boat ride, going trekking in heavy rainfall, going for a 6 hour bus ride in the mountains, really can make wonderful changes to your attitude and will power.

3. Exploring Different Cultures

Travel is the best way to explore different cultures. Learning about a new culture in school, college, or a museum, is good; but actually being a part of that culture enriches you and your understanding of mankind. While travelling, we get to taste the local food, listen to their music, wear their style of clothing; and thus, we are able to understand the culture of the new place in a better way.

4. Making New Friends

Travelling is a great way to make new friends. Plus you get to meet people who are from different places, cultures, religions, and with a different perspective. So you also end up learning new things from them. Sometimes, you start questioning your beliefs and end up being more broad-minded and tolerant.

5. Being Braver

Travel always makes me do things that I am scared to do. And after doing it, I realise that it’s not so bad. The fear only lies inside my head. Whether it’s going solo on an early-morning flight, making friends with strangers, dealing with ogling men, my travel journeys have been full of things I fear.

6. Travel Makes Me More Grateful

Travel has made me more grateful for the things I always used to take for granted, viz. sleeping on a comfortable bed, having tasty food on the table, drinking clean water, etc. This is because, while travelling, I have come across people who don’t enjoy all these privileges. Seriously these are privileges!

7. Escaping Boredom

My mantra is simple – ‘Work, Save, Travel, Repeat’. I am very happy with my job and my life. But sometimes I need a well-deserved break.

8. I Have Only One Life

I only have one life; but there are 29 states in India and 196 countries in the world today. I want to explore them all and I hope my passport runs out of pages. I really do! :1

9. To Remain Humble And Kind

Travel has taught me how to keep my head high and my feet on the ground. It’s great to be proud of your work and achievements, but it’s also important to turn back around for the ones who love you.

10. Boosting My Creativity And Confidence

Creativity is the ability to generate ideas and put in your best efforts to bring those ideas to life. Confidence is the belief in the yourself and your ideas. I am using travel as a means to boost my creativity and confidence through blogging, video making, meeting new people, and following my dreams.
