Today I’m gonna talk about 5 premium point and shoot cameras that you can buy, if you have a hefty budget. If you want to invest in a better and advanced point and shoot with bigger sensor size, advanced superzoom, and focusing systems, here are 5 cameras for you to consider.
1. Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100
The Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100 comes with a back-illuminated 20MP sensor that delivers excellent image quality. Priced at around Rs 30,790 on Amazon India, it has low-light sensitivity that helps to focus faster in low light and produce cleaner high-ISO images. The rear screen tilts up and down which makes it more flexible and easy to use. It can also record Full HD video at 24 fps and 25 fps.

2. Nikon Coolpix P1000
Nikon’s largest superzoom, Nikon Coolpix P1000 boasts a lens with a whopping equivalent focal range of 24-3000mm. Yes, 3000mm. You can check all this out either with the high-resolution electronic viewfinder or the tilting LCD screen on the camera’s rear. It’s priced at a whooping Rs 69,950. The Coolpix P1000 uses a unique Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction system to stabilize both horizontal and vertical movements.

3. Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II
The Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II provides exceptional image quality even in low-light with the f/1.8-2.8 lens. The newly designed lens provides wide angle of 24mm while reaching 120mm (5x optical zoom) and capable of providing a 0.47x magnification. Priced at around Rs 43,999, it has a 20.2MP 1″ CMOS sensor, 3″ fully articulated 1.04M dot touch screen LCD.

4. Nikon Coolpix P900
Let’s just call the Nikon Coolpix P900 a compact all-in-one, with whopping 83x optical zoom and dual optical vibration reduction, built into a focal length equivalent to 24-2000mm in 35mm film terms. With a respectable f/2.8 maximum aperture, the camera boasts the ability to shoot 4K video, plus supports the capture of Raw files. Priced at around Rs 29,999, the COOLPIX P900 gives you two ways to frame your shots: a swiveling Vari-angle LCD display and a high-resolution eye-level viewfinder (EVF).

5. Fujifilm FinePix XP130
Waterproof down to 25m, the FinePix XP130 features an 5x optical zoom lens(28 – 140mm), which means that you can zoom right up to the action, even underwater. Optical image stabilization reduces the blur that tends to occur when the camera is zoomed in. Priced at around Rs 40,139, the XP140 even shoots 4K video. You can capture the action quickly at continuous shooting speed of up to 10 frames/sec in full resolution.

Some people may say in such a high budget it may be more prudent to go for a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Yes that’s true but a DSLR or mirrorless also may mean investment in heavy lenses and flashes, especially if you want to take up wildlife photography. So if you want to avoid that and make a one time investment then these point and shoots may work for you.
